We offer three types of flea services, depending on where the problem is occurring.
WHAT WE DO
Inside Service
We do two services, about two weeks apart. The first service consists of:
Inspection and identification of problem areas
Treatment of carpeted areas with liquid insecticide
Fogging with ULV (ultra-low-volume) machine
The second service consists of:
Treatment of carpeted areas with liquid insecticide coupled with insect growth regulator to prevent hatching eggs from maturing into biting adults
Yard Service
We do two services, about two weeks apart. The first service consists of:
Inspection and identification of problem areas
Treatment with liquid insecticide to affected areas for fast knock-down of fleas
The second service consists of:
Treatment with insecticide granules to provide longer lasting residual action
Crawl Space Treatment
For flea infestations in the crawl space under a home, we offer a power-dusting service. Power dusting involves using a machine to blow insecticide dust under the crawl space area. The dust particles are electrostatically charged by the machine so that they will cling to various surfaces under the crawl space and be most effective.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Before the Treatment
Vacuum all rugs, carpets, and furniture--especially between and under cushions. Then tightly seal and dispose of the vacuum bag outside.
Clear and clean all floors, even closets. Mop all tile and vinyl floors. Sweep all concrete floors.
Remove all decorative items such as pillows and blankets. Be sure to check for items under beds and furniture.
Remove all pets and pet accessories, including pet food and water dishes. Fish bowls and aquariums may remain if properly covered and the air pump is shut off during treatment.
Wash or dispose of all pet bedding. If laundering, wash pet bedding separately from other linens.
Show your Mighty Pest Control technician where your pets sleep, rest, and eat.
Treat Pets for Fleas
A flea collar or flea powder or even a dip alone may not be effective on a pet. Flea-infested pets will negatively affect the success of your treatment. We recommend using products from the vet, such as Frontline® or Advantage™.
After the Treatment
Wait 2 hours before you re-enter your home.
Wait 24 hours before you resume normal vacuuming to give the insecticide time to work.
Continue vacuuming every 3-4 days for the next 2-3 weeks. The vacuum's mechanical pressure will improve the effectiveness of the insecticide by stimulating unhatched fleas to emerge from their protective pupae cases.
Expect to see some adult fleas for up to 3 weeks after treatment. Flea pupae are protected from insecticides by their cocoons. They will continue to emerge over a period of 1-3 weeks. Once exposed to the insecticide residual, they will be eliminated.
